2009 and a new beginning, we are all hopeful that something good will happen for our children.

No Child Left Behind started with good intentions but the results are not very inspiring.

Many children are excellent students and doing well, but have certain challenges when they reach a difficult subject. Not brave enough to raise their hand and ask a question in class they feel others know the answer too. Others just need help learning to relax before taking a test? What to do?

Individualized one-on-one tutoring allows them to ask any questions in the private and secure setting of their home,(or another safe location). There are many different learning styles and when a child thinks "I just don't get it" they need to be shown that it is not their fault, they merely need to be taught in a style that suits them.

Security is important to us all. How is it a school child gets a firearm into a school? How is it that a 14 year old commits suicide because of a fraudulent e-mail message taunting her? Our children are the future of America so we
must act to protect each other, yes sometimes it does take a Village.

Bullying Intervention Strategies work. An effective program worth exploring is one developed by a Norwegian Phychologist, Dan Olweus. Other countries have implemented this program and we need parental intervention
to look into such strategies to keep our children safe. Our children should be able to go to school to learn and not be fearful.

So let us join together and inform the new administration what we expect of them. To take notice of what we say and DO SOMETHING!!!!
